The Domaine du Carrubier, is in La Londe Les Maures (Var), it has been a family estate since 1974. It extends on about 88 hectares, 25 of which grow fully classified Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée "Côtes de Provence" vines, which nest close to the sea and the Maures hillsides: they very much benefit from this exceptional location, which favours a strong and specific expression in the wines of this specially priviledged soil.
Since it has been in the family, the Domaine du Carrubier has been run with great attention: not only the vines, but the environment itself have received, year after year, a caring follow-up. The use of the most recent equipments togther with a strict respect of traditional techniques of culture and wine-making can be found in the Domaine du Carrubier: no chemical disbudding, no artificially added grass, but a fertilization which respects the land's own organic equilibria, together with a constant maintenance of a proper drainage, of effluent processing and a mechanical cultivation which perpetuates the in-deep rooting of the vinestocks.
Grape harvest is done entirely by hand: the grapes are first sorted in the field, their stalks then removed before they go into the vats. The musts are prevented from oxidizing using a specific in-house designed method, and the temperature is under control throughout the wine-making process. All year around, the "Château du Carrubier" wines are managed by our Oenologist, Mr. Gilles Baude. Their bottling is entrusted to a renown mobile unit which comes and works inside the Domaine. The choice of the vine stocks and their renewal over time have been equally thoughtful: Rolle, Ugniblanc and Sémillon for the White, Grenache, Cinsaut with a touch of Syrah for the Rosé, and the Red is a blend of Cabernet, Grenache and Syrah.
The "Château du Carrubier" White (Gold Medal Concours Général Agricole Paris 2017 to 2016 Vintage), has remarkable aromatic and fruity intensity. Dry and vivacious, it is the perfect companion for all the possible kinds and recipes of fish and sea-food.
The Cabernet stocks entail the "Château du Carrubier" (Cuvée de Clara 2016 Gold Medal Concours Général Agricole Paris 2017) with body, firmness and "fin-de-bouche" tastes seldom found in this region, Syrah brings the spicy notes. It will match all meat and cheese dishes.
The "Château du Carrubier" Rosé (Cuvée Ingénue 2014 Médaille d'Or Concours Général Agricole Paris 2015 and One Star in Guide Hachette 2016, Cuvée d'Aurore 2015 Gold Medal Concours des Grands Vins de France Mâcon 2016) is the most characteristic wine of the Appellation: Its bouquet and lingering fragrance combine with excellent stay and an elegant and sensitive pink hue. Enjoyed by itself as a drink, it will also harmoniously combine with foods all along a meal and with desserts.
The "Château du Carrubier" wines are offered in a distinctive 75cl bordeaux bottle with classical as well as stylish label which meet their refined and aristocratic character. Their high qualities are being regularly recognized by awards in the most internationally renown wine competitions.
